The Colgate Raiders and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks meet in college basketball action from the Stabler Arena on Tuesday night.
The Colgate Raiders will try to snap a four-game losing skid after a 78-68 loss to Vermont in their last game. Nelly Cummings leads the Raiders in scoring with 17.6 PPG while Tucker Richardson has 12.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG and a team-high 4.2 APG and Jack Ferguson has 10.9 PPG to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Colgate so far this season. Ryan Moffatt and Alex Capitano each have 9+ PPG with Moffatt having 5.3 RPG. Keegan Records also has 8.7 PPG and a team-high 6.1 RPG as well this season. As a team, Colgate is averaging 74.7 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field, 39.3% from three and 71.7% from the foul line while allowing 73.1 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three this season.
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 63-61 triumph over American last time out. Evan Taylor leads the Mountain Hawks in scoring with 13.3 PPG along with 6 RPG while Jeameril Watson has 11.7 PPG with 4.7 RPG and Marques Wilson has 10.8 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Lehigh so far this season. Dominic Parolin has 5.7 PPG with a team-high 6.1 RPG to lead the Mountain Hawks on the glass while Ben Knostman has a team-high 2.5 APG as well this season. As a team, Lehigh is averaging 63.3 PPG on 42.1% shooting from the field, 30.9% from three and 73% from the foul line while allowing 71.5 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 36.8% from three this season.
Colgate is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games. Lehigh is 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 9-4 in their last 13 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400.
I get that Colgate is probably the better team here and likely wins this game but I’m not sure how I can lay almost double digits with a Raiders team that’s lost six straight games on the road, including three of those games where the Raiders were actually laying points. Lehigh’s not a good basketball team, but they’ve been winning here and there and while I’m not saying they win this one outright, I can’t lay this many points with Colgate. Give me the Mountain Hawks and the points.
