Alabama A&M won their opener versus Tennessee State. Since then it’s been losses to Jacksonville State, Cincinnati, UAB, Western Kentucky, North Alabama, Samford, Troy and Indiana State, however.
On December 18 versus Indiana State, the Bulldogs scored just 23 points in the first half and 20 more from there in a 67-43 blowout loss. The team’s only double-digit scorer in that one was Garrett Hicks with 10 points and two rebounds.
Over on the Lipscomb side, they hit a 5-2 run over their first seven, losing to Charleston and Tennessee Tech. The Bisons would fall in their next five to Belmont, Chattanooga, Miami-FL, Tennessee State and Florida State. After another win Lipscomb fell again to LSU.
In the LSU matchup, the Bisons posted a 48-24 deficit in the first half and a 47-36 run in the second for a 95-60 blowout loss. The team’s only double-digit scorer was Jacob Ognacevic with 12 points and seven boards.
The Bisons are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 Thursday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 6-2 in Lipscomb’s last eight overall.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 overall. The under is 32-12 in Alabama A&M’s last 44 overall.
PICK: I’m sticking with Lipscomb. The Bisons have had some tough matchups over their last seven games or so, and they’re not scoring all that well. Lipscomb has hit 65 or fewer points in six of their last seven outings.
That said, the Bisons shouldn’t have a lot of trouble posting points versus Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs have been at 57 or fewer points in each of their last four, so this should be a good opportunity for a Lipscomb bounce-back.
