Campbell got off to a nice 7-2 start this year, then hit a losing streak versus Georgia Southern, UNC Wilmington, UNC Asheville and Winthrop. Since then however, it’s been wins over Charleston Southern and Radford.
In the Radford game, the Camels turned a modest one-point halftime lead into a 70-58 win with 41 second-half points. Top scorer Jordan Whitfield posted 17 points with two assists in 32 minutes of work during the victory.
Over on the Longwood side, they hit a spotty 4-4 run out of the gate this year, but have been able to steady the ship amid a handful of postponements lately. The Lancers are 6-1 in their last seven and coming off a Saturday win over Gardner-Webb.
In the Gardner-Webb game, the Lancers scored 27 points in the first half and 39 more from there in a 66-60 victory. The only Longwood player to finish in double-figures was Isaiah Wilkins with 20 points and eight rebounds.
The Lancers are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 at home and 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall. The under is 18-8 in the Lancers’ last 26 at home.
Meanwhile, the Camels are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games and 0-6 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. The under is 5-2 in Campbell’s last seven road games.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Longwood here. The Lancers have performed well during this 6-1 run, hitting 78 or more points in five of those games. Longwood started out a little slow in their last matchup but recovered well in the second half to get the win.
As for Campbell, I like them to be competitive here as well and it should be a good matchup. I’m leaning more toward Longwood on a cover, though.
