The Southeastern Louisiana Lions and the Louisville Cardinals meet Tuesday in college basketball action from KFC Yum! Center. SE Louisiana is sitting at 4-6 so far. The Lions are coming off a loss to Southern U. As for Louisville, they’re 6-3 and lost to DePaul in their last game. Southeastern Louisiana went 3-3 over their first six games, losing to Tulane, SMU and Fort Wayne in that stretch. The Lions hit a 1-3 skid in the next four outings, beating Troy while otherwise falling to Florida Gulf Coast, Western Michigan and Southern U.

In the loss to Southern U, the Lions had a 36-31 lead at halftime but were outscored 41-30 from there in a 72-66 defeat. Keon Clergeot put up a team-high 16 points with three rebounds and three assists in the loss.

Over on the Louisville side, they got off to a 5-1 start with wins over Southern U, Navy, Detroit, Mississippi State and Maryland. The Cardinals then lost to Michigan State, beat NC State and fell to DePaul in their next three.

Back on Friday in the DePaul game, the Cardinals were up by three at the break but couldn’t hang on after a 36-26 second half and lost 62-55. Malik Williams was the leading scorer in that one with 22 points and eight rebounds.

Louisville is 20-8-2 ATS in their last 30 Tuesday games and 15-5 ATS in the last 20 after an ATS loss. The Cardinals are 1-6 ATS in their last seven at home. The under is 4-1-1 in the Cardinals’ last six overall.

Meanwhile, the Lions are 1-4 ATS in the last five overall and the under is 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games. The over is 24-8 in SE Louisiana’s last 32 after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m going to try Louisville here. The Cardinals need a good bounce-back game, though. Louisville shot just 31.1 percent against a good DePaul team in their last outing, but the team did keep up with 49 rebounds and 12 assists. The Cardinals have hit 64 or fewer points in two of their last three; they’ve had a couple of tough matchups in that span.

I like Louisville to get off to a fast start here and ultimately cover. Southeastern Louisiana has put up some good points totals this year, but if the Cardinals are on I don’t think the Lions will keep up.
