Maryland vs Indiana Basketball Picks 3-3-24

The Indiana Hoosiers will play the Maryland Terrapins in a Big Ten game on Sunday afternoon at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Maryland. Let’s take a look at the Indiana preview, Maryland preview, betting matchup, and the Indiana vs Maryland prediction.

Indiana Preview

The Indiana Hoosiers are 15-13 (7-10) this season after they defeated Wisconsin by a score of 74-70 in their last game. Indiana led 38-33 at halftime and they were able to hold off Wisconsin in the second half for the win. The Hoosiers shot 61.7% from the field and were +4 in rebounding margin in the game. Indiana had lost their previous four games against Penn State, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Purdue. The Hoosiers are scoring 72.9 points per game with 34.8 rebounds per game and 14.8 assists per game, while allowing 75 points against per game this year. Malik Reneau is averaging 16 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game. Maryland Preview

The Maryland Terrapins are 15-14 (7-11) this year after they lost to Northwestern by a score of 68-61 in their last game. Maryland trailed 29-24 at the half, but they did score 37 points in the second half in the loss. The Terrapins shot 38.9% from the field and were just 2-22 on three pointers in the game. Maryland defeated Rutgers by a score of 63-46 in the game prior to Northwestern, but lost to Wisconsin and Illinois before that. The Terrapins are scoring 69.3 points per game with 36.4 rebounds per game and 10.7 assists per game, while giving up 64.4 points against per game this year. Jahmir Young is averaging 20.9 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 4.2 assists per game. Maryland is shooting 41.2% from the field, 71.9% on free throws, and 28.2% on three pointers this season.

Indiana vs Maryland Betting Prediction

Both of these teams have had disappointing Big 10 seasons, but they will look for their eighth conference win here. Maryland has lost three of their last four games, but they will have the home court advantage. Indiana has lost four of their last five games and they are 1-6 in their last seven road games. The Hoosiers are a decent offensive team, but their defense is allowing 75 points against per game this year. On the other side, Maryland is only shooting 41.2% from the field, but they are one of the best defensive teams in the Big Ten. I do like Maryland to win this game, as Indiana has struggled on the road, but I don’t like laying this bigger number with a team that struggles to shoot. Take Indiana here.
