Ohio State has taken a handful of tough losses this year, but the team hasn’t lost consecutive outings yet so far. The Buckeyes are 4-1 in their last five games with a loss to Iowa between wins over Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois.

Matched up against the Illini on Thursday, Ohio State was down by one point by halftime. The Buckeyes hit a 50-46 run in the second for a nice 86-83 comeback victory. Tops in scoring was Malaki Branham with 31 points and two boards.

Over on the Terrapins’ side, their year started out at 8-4 overall but they’ve only been able to win consecutive matchups twice since then. Maryland managed recent victories over Nebraska and Penn State, but lost their last game to Indiana.

In the Indiana game on Thursday, the Terrapins had a 27-30 deficit at the break. Maryland was outscored 37-44 from there in a 74-64 defeat. Leading the way in scoring was Fatts Russell with 23 points, two rebounds and two steals.

The Terrapins are 10-21 ATS in their last 31 at home and the under is 15-6 in their last 21 at home. The over is 7-2 in Maryland’s last nine after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall. Ohio State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Ohio State in this one. The Buckeyes have had a few rough spots this year—especially in these difficult conference games—but overall they’ve navigated the schedule quite well. Ohio State has hit 70 or more points in three of the last four games and should be able to put up a good total here.

The last time these teams met up back on February 6, Ohio State secured an 82-67 home victory. This road rematch might be a little trickier, but the Buckeyes should still have the inside track on a cover.
