Memphis vs South Florida 12/29/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The USF Bulls and the Memphis Tigers meet in college basketball action from the FedExForum on Thursday night.

The USF Bulls will look to build on their five-game win streak after a 92-73 win over NJIT last time out. Tyler Harris leads the Bulls in scoring with 15.5 PPG along with 3.1 APG while Selton Miguel has 12.4 PPG with a team-high 3.7 APG to lead USF in assists this season. Russel Tchewa has 10.5 PPG with a team-high 7.2 RPG to lead the Bulls on the glass and to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for USF up to this point in the season. As a team, USF is averaging 69.8 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field, 32.5% from three and 61.1% from the foul line so far this season.

The Memphis Tigers will hope to build on an 83-61 win over Alabama State last time out. Kendric Davis leads the Tigers in scoring and assists, logging 19.3 PPG and 5.8 APG while DeAndre Williams has 15.2 PPG and a team-high 7.2 RPG to lead the Tigers in rebounding as the only other double-digit scorer for Memphis up to this point in the season. As a team, Memphis is averaging 76.8 PPG on 47.3% shooting from the field, 31.6% from three and 72.4% from the foul line this season.

USF is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 games following a win. Memphis is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games and 19-9 ATS in their last 28 games overall while the under is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games following an ATS loss.

I get the case to be made on either side here, but I’m backing the over in this one. These are two teams that have been trending to the over in recent games and Memphis, despite playing solid defense at times this season, has played in some track meets this year. All in all, I think this ends up being a high-scoring one as well, so give me the over.
