The Louisville Cardinals and the Miami Hurricanes meet Thursday in ACC Tournament college basketball action from Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Here’s a Miami vs. Louisville prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Miami vs. Louisville pick.
Louisville Cardinals Betting Preview
The Cardinals were sitting at 14-6 through their first 20 games this year, then hit a nice five-game win streak over SMU, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, NC State and Baylor. A 1-3 run came next with losses to SMU, North Carolina and Clemson, then three straight wins over Syracuse, Miami and SMU. That gives the Cardinals a 23-9 overall record in the books this season so far.
On Wednesday versus SMU in the tournament matchup, the Cards had a 26-26 tie going into the second half. Louisville hit a 36-32 run the rest of the way, eventually powering out a 62-58 win in the end to keep their run going. The Cards’ top scorer was Ryan Conwell with 16 points and three boards, while Adrian Wooley added 14 points with six rebounds and two assists.
Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview
Over on the Miami side, they managed to go 15-4 over the first 19 games this year, then took wins over Syracuse, Stanford, Boston College, North Carolina, NC State and Virginia Tech in the next seven outings. The Hurricanes would lose to Virginia before wins over Florida State, Boston College and SMU. After another loss to Louisville, the Hurricanes are sitting at 24-7 overall.
In the Louisville matchup last weekend, the Hurricanes came back out onto the court after halftime with a 46-37 deficit on the scoreboard. Miami got better from there on a 52-46 run but it wasn’t enough in an eventual home loss of 92-89 in the end. Leading the team in scoring during the losing effort was Tre Donaldson with 25 points, six assists and two steals over 36 minutes on the floor.

Miami vs Louisville Prediction
I’ll stick with Miami. The Hurricanes are coming off a tough loss to a good Louisville team last weekend despite a good second half. Miami shot 56.4 percent from the field in that defeat with 82.6 percent (19-of-23) at the line and a 25-19 rebounding advantage. The whopping 61.1 percent shooting allowed on defense pretty much killed any momentum, though. Miami is still 3-1 in their last four games though, with 76 or more points scored in all of those outings.
These teams just saw each other recently in a 92-89 home loss for the Hurricanes on March 7. In that one Miami shot very well from the field (56.4 percent) and from the line (82.6 percent on 19-of-23) alongside a 25-19 rebounding advantage. Louisville shot even better, however, hitting 61.1 percent from the field and 50 percent (12-of-24) from 3-point range. We’re likely to have another shootout on our hands here, and I like Miami to get a bit of revenge.
