Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado managed wins in their first four games this year, taking out Towson, Grambling, Milwaukee and Richmond. The Buffaloes would lose two of their next three games to Florida State and Colorado State, however. In the 88-83 loss to the Rams, Colorado shot 54.5 percent from the field with a 34-21 rebounding edge.
The Buffaloes were able to record another victory in their last matchup versus Pepperdine. In that one, Colorado jumped out to a 52-28 halftime lead and cruised to the 91-66 result. Tops in scoring was Tristan da Silva with 22 points and five rebounds. Cody Williams added 21 points as well.
Miami Hurricanes
Over on the Hurricanes’ side, they opened up the year with a win streak as well. Miami beat NJIT, UCF, Florida International, Georgia and Kansas State in their first five games before a loss to Kentucky. The Hurricanes would bounce back with a 62-49 win over Notre Dame in game seven, however.
Miami managed to take out Long Island University on Wednesday, and this one wasn’t close. The Hurricanes were ahead 53-18 going into the second half and cruised on 44 more points from there in a 97-49 win. Leading the team was Norchad Omier with 17 points and 13 rebounds with two assists.
ANDREW’S FREE COLORADO VS MIAMI PREDICTION
I’ll probably just stick with Miami. This will be an interesting matchup though, and one of the tougher games for the Hurricanes so far this year. Miami didn’t have any issues at all versus LIU in their last outing, hitting 56.9 percent from the field with a 45-32 rebounding advantage. In all but one game so far this year, the Hurricanes have scored at least 73 points.
As for Colorado, they’ve scored 71 or more in all but one game this season and should post a pretty healthy total on Sunday as well. I like this one to be a high-scoring finish, with Miami powering out a cover/win. It’ll be a fun game to watch.
