The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Michigan Wolverines meet in college basketball action from the Crisler Center on Tuesday night.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will try to snap an eight-game losing skid after a 63-61 loss to Rutgers last time out. Bryce McGowens leads the Cornhuskers in scoring with 16.7 PPG along with 5.5 RPG while Alonzo Verge Jr. has 14.1 PPG with 4.8 RPG and a team-high 5.3 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for the Huskers so far this season while leading Nebraska in assists. Derrick Walker has 9.5 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG to lead the Cornhuskers on the glass while C.J. Wilcher has 7.6 PPG and Keisei Tominaga has 7 PPG as well this season. As a team, Nebraska is averaging 72.3 PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field, 30% from three and 71.8% from the foul line while allowing 78 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field and 35.6% from three this season.

The Michigan Wolverines will look to bounce back from an 83-67 loss to Michigan State last time out. Hunter Dickinson leads the Wolverines in scoring and rebounding with 17 PPG with 8.2 RPG while Eli Brooks has 11.3 PPG with 2.9 APG and Caleb Houston has 10.7 PPG with 4.5 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Michigan so fart his season. Moussa Diabate has 9.2 PPG with 6.4 RPG and DeVante’ Jones has a team-high 3.9 APG to lead the Wolverines in assists so far this season. As a team, Michigan is averaging 72.3 PPG on 47.4% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three and 69% from the foul line while allowing 67.6 PPG on 42.5% shooting from the field and 31% from three this season.

Nebraska is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600 while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Tuesday games. Michigan is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get why Michigan’s favored here, as the Wolverines are at home, side-by-side are probably the better team by a fair margin here and need to start picking up some big wins to build some confidence over the next few weeks heading into the conference tournament. However, Nebraska hasn’t been winning games, but they’ve been a lot more competitive as of late, and while a lot of the close calls came at home, I think that has to build up a bit of confidence for the Cornhuskers here against a Michigan team that’s failed to deliver to expectations time and time again this season. Give me the Cornhuskers and the points here.
