Michigan vs Oakland Prediction 11/2/26 College Basketball Picks Today

Michigan vs Oakland Prediction

I’m going to take a stab on Oakland. The Grizzles suffered some bad luck last season with injuries, but still managed to finish fourth in the conference standings. In the end it was a lack of defensive prowess that cut their season short in the tournament, and to combat that the team isn’t necessarily bigger this year but quicker. The roster looks pretty balanced on paper and if the team can stay healthy they’ll be in the mix for the top slot in the Horizon League.

As for Michigan, they’ll be a new-look squad that’s quite different from the one that won a national championship a season ago. That said, the roster looks like it’s got more than enough talent for the Wolverines to contend in a stacked Big Ten. It may take a few games for us to see Michigan’s true potential but if all goes well they’ll be at or near the top of the conference by the end of the regular season.

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the Michigan Wolverines meet Monday in college basketball action from Crisler Center. Here’s a Michigan vs Oakland prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Michigan vs Oakland pick.

Oakland Golden Grizzlies Betting Preview

The Grizzlies had a fairly middling year overall in 2025-26 but they did better in conference play. Oakland finished at .500 (16-16) with a 12-8 run in the Horizon League, which left them behind only Wright State, Robert Morris and Detroit Mercy in the standings. The Grizzlies lost in the first game of the tournament versus Northern Kentucky, however.

Moving ahead to the upcoming season, Oakland will once again have head coach Greg Kampe back in the fold. He’s been on the sideline for 42 years, tallying a 731-571 overall record in that time. His leading returning scorer is Nassim Mashhour, who bagged 9.3 PPG last year but appeared in only 10 games due to a knee injury.

Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview

Over on the Wolverines’ side, they were able to notch a historic run last year. Michigan finished the regular season 29-2 overall with a 19-1 run in the conference; the 29 wins were a school record and the 19 were a Big Ten record. After a stunning loss to Purdue in the championship of the conference tourney, Michigan rebounded with a national championship run that culminated with a 69-63 win over UConn in the title game.

This year Michigan hits the reset button with new incoming head coach Mike Boynton following in the footsteps of Dusty May (who departed for the NBA). Boynton will get just one starter back from last year’s national championship squad. That’s Elliot Cadeau, who came in from North Carolina to eventually earn honors as the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player.
