The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be out to build on their 73-54 triumph over Akron in their last game. Tolu Smith led the Bulldogs with 26 points on 11 of 13 shooting with a team-high 8 rebounds while D.J. Jeffries added 13 points on 6 of 11 shooting as the only other double-digit scorer for Mississippi State in the winning effort. Dashawn Davis had a team-high 4 assists while Tyler Stevenson added 6 rebounds and 3 assists of his own.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games following an ATS win. I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m leaning towards Mississippi State laying the points. UAPB did well to hang with Oklahoma, but I think that result was more about Oklahoma blowing it than it was about UAPB keeping it respectable, even though they did nonetheless. I think that UAPB’s in tough here against what looks to be a pretty good Mississippi State team so I’ll side with the Bulldogs at home here.
