Monmouth vs Saint Peter’s 2/25/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The St. Peter’s Peacocks and the Monmouth Hawks meet Friday in college basketball action from Multipurpose Activity Center. St. Peter’s is 12-11 on the year. The Peacocks lost to Siena in their last game. As for Monmouth, they’re sitting at 18-9 and coming off a win versus Siena. St. Peter’s managed a spotty 3-6 run in their first nine games this year. The Peacocks would bounce back from that rough start with an 8-2 run afterward. It’s been a 1-3 stretch since then with losses to Rider, Iona and Siena.

Matched up against Siena on Sunday, the Peacocks were drilled 29-42 in the first half. St. Peter’s kept up the pace from there but couldn’t come back in an 84-70 loss. Daryl Banks led the team with his 16 points and two rebounds.

Over on the Monmouth side, they hit a 10-2 start to the year before a four-game losing streak in January. The Hawks have been on an 8-3 run since then, however. Monmouth has beaten Rider and Siena in their last pair of outings.

On Tuesday in the Siena game, the Hawks got off to a nice 34-19 lead by the break. Monmouth was outscored 37-40 from there but hung on for the 71-59 win. George Papas was tops on the team with 18 points and five rebounds.

The Hawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six at home and 14-4 ATS in their last 18 after an ATS win. Monmouth is 1-4 ATS in their last five Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Peacocks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 overall. St. Peter’s is 6-1 ATS in their last seven Friday games.

PICK: I’m going to try Monmouth in this one. The Hawks have been on a pretty steady run since late January, and they’ve only got a couple of dud performances mixed in there. Monmouth has been a mixed bag on the scoreboard, though.

The last time these teams met up back on January 14, Saint Peter’s pulled off a 67-62 victory at home. I like this one to be tight as well with Monmouth powering out the revenge cover. Should be a fun one.
