Mount St. Mary’s vs St. Francis-BK 3/2/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers and the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers meet Wednesday in Northeast Conference Tournament college basketball action from Knott Arena. St. Francis BK is 10-19 overall this year. The Terriers lost to Merrimack in their last game. As for Mount St. Mary’s, they’re currently 13-15 and coming off a win over Central Connecticut. St. Francis BK has had a rough year thus far. The Terriers were sitting at just 7-17 back on February 10, but then managed a three-game win streak. The last two games have both been losses to Bryant and Merrimack, however.

In the Merrimack game back on Saturday, the Terriers had a 31-30 lead coming into the second half. St. Francis BK was outscored 21-42 from there in a 72-52 loss. Michael Cubbage was the top scorer with 15 points and nine boards.

Over on the Mount St. Mary’s side, they were just 5-10 to start the year, then hit a six-game winning streak in January. Mount St. Mary’s is just 2-5 since then, however. The wins in that time came versus St. Francis PA and Central Connecticut.

Matched up against the Blue Devils on Saturday, the Mountaineers held a 34-18 lead after one half. Mount St. Mary’s scored 31 points from there in a 65-46 win. Jalen Benjamin was tops on his 19 points and eight assists.

The Mountaineers are 1-6 ATS in the last seven overall and 7-1 ATS in the last eight after an ATS win. The under is 6-1 in Mount St. Mary’s last seven overall.

Meanwhile, the Terriers are 5-0 ATS in the last five road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 overall. The under is 6-2 in St. Francis BK’s last eight overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Mount St. Mary’s here, but probably not going near it. Neither one of these teams has been all that trustworthy lately. The Mountaineers haven’t been able to score 70 points in any of their last eight games, and have gone 3-5 in that time. The Terriers have been below 70 in six of their last seven, so this game could be another low-scoring affair.

St. Francis BK won 64-55 on the road the last time these teams met up, but lost the first matchup back in January. I think Mount St. Mary’s will prevail in another tight one here, but I’m not touching it.
