The Florida State Seminoles will look to snap a five-game losing streak after a 56-51 loss to Pitt last time out. Caleb Mills leads FSU in scoring with 13.3 PPG with 2.6 APG while Malik Osborne has 10 PPG with a team-high 6.9 RPG to lead the Seminoles on the glass and Matthew Cleveland has 10.4 PPG with 5.1 RPG this year. Anthony Polite has 9.7 PPG with 5.5 RPG and RayQuan Evans has a team-high 2.8 APG to lead the Seminoles in the assists department this season. As a team, Florida State is averaging 71.2 PPG on 43.8% shooting from the field, 33.4% from three and 70% from the foul line while allowing 69.2 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field and 37.3% from three this season.
The UNC Tar Heels will look to add to a 79-77 win over Clemson last time out. Armando Bacot leads UNC in scoring and rebounding with 16.6 PPG and 12.1 RPG, averaging a double-double per game while Caleb Love has 14.8 PPG with 3.2 RPG and a team-high 3.6 APG. R.J. Davis has 13.8 PPG with 3.9 RPG and 3.4 APG while Brady Manek has 13.7 PPG with 5.6 RPG to round out the scoring in double figures for the Tar Heels so far this season. As a team, North Carolina is averaging 78.1 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 38.4% from behind the arc and 75.7% from the foul line while allowing 72.8 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field and 34.6% from three this season.

I get the case to be made for Florida State and the points as the Seminoles are a much better team than what they’ve shown us lately. However, once you drop a game to Pitt, in the way FSU did, you’re dead to me. The Seminoles just haven’t looked good during this losing streak and while UNC hasn’t had dominant performances consistently lately, the Tar Heels are still playing better basketball and I think they’re worth the play here.
