The CSU Fullerton Titans and the North Dakota Fighting Hawks meet Sunday in college basketball action from the Betty. CSU Fullerton is fresh off a Saturday matchup versus Utah Tech. In that one the Titans lost by six points. As for North Dakota, they played Utah Tech in their last game on Friday and took a 15-point victory. CSU Fullerton lost to a good San Diego State team in their opener but quickly hit their stride. The Titans beat Pepperdine, Vermont, Pacific and Westcliff over the next four outings.

In the Saturday matchup versus Utah Tech, CSU Fullerton held a 33-29 advantage at halftime. The Titans were outscored by 10 in the second half during a 66-60 loss. Latrell Wrightsell led the team with 21 points and three steals in the losing effort.

Over on the North Dakota side, they’ve had an up-and-down season thus far. The Hawks went 3-3 over their first six games, beating Incarnate Word, Elon and Wisconsin Stout while falling to Creighton, Pacific and Montana State otherwise.

In Friday’s game versus Utah Tech, the Hawks came up with a 34-29 edge by halftime. North Dakota posted a 33-23 run in the second half for a 67-52 victory. BJ Omot was the top scorer on 16 points, and Caleb Nero added 15 points.

PICK: I’m going with North Dakota. The Hawks have struggled at certain points this season so far, but they’re doing fairly well in comparable matchups after this seven-game opening stretch. North Dakota has hit 67 or more points in each of their last four games and should post a decent total here as well. I don’t think the Hawks will have too much difficulty keeping the pace versus CSU Fullerton if they’re on their game.
