The Florida State Seminoles and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Joyce Center. Florida State is 5-13 on the season so far. The Seminoles lost to Virginia in their last game. As for Notre Dame, they’re 9-9 on the year following a loss to Syracuse. Florida State Seminoles
Florida State hit a 3-9 run through their first 12 games this year, beating only Mercer, Louisville and USC Upstate. The Seminoles are 2-4 in their last six games with losses to St. John’s, Duke, Wake Forest and Virginia.
In the Virginia game on Saturday, the Seminoles took a 33-25 deficit into the second half. Florida State fell even further behind in the second and lost 67-58. Cameron Corhen was the leading team scorer on 15 points with four rebounds.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Over on the Notre Dame side, they were 7-5 after 12 games with losses to St. Bonaventure, Syracuse, Marquette, Georgia and Florida State. The Irish are 2-4 in their last six with wins over only Jacksonville and Georgia Tech.
In their last matchup Saturday versus Syracuse, the Irish took a 40-36 edge into the break. Notre Dame was outscored 42-33 in the second and lost 78-73. Marcus Hammond scored 18 points and Nate Laszewski doubled on 14 points and 10 boards.

I’ll probably take a stab on Florida State here. The Seminoles are in the middle of a lost season but they’ve had a few bright spots here and there. One of those bright spots came December 21 in a 73-72 win over Notre Dame at Donald L. Tucker Center. Florida State shot 47.4 percent from the floor in that one and had 29 rebounds. As for the Irish, they’re just 1-4 in their last five games and they’re coming off a tough loss to Syracuse. This should be a competitive matchup if the Seminoles play well; I think they can stick out a cover.
