Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview

The Fighting Irish have three games in the bag so far this season. Notre Dame opened up their campaign on November 3 versus LIU. That one went pretty smoothly, as the Irish carried a 40-25 halftime edge to an 89-67 win in the end. Tops in scoring for Notre Dame was Markus Burton with 24 points in 28 minutes. Cole Certa added 22 points with four rebounds and two assists, and Ryder Frost had 15 points. In game two versus Detroit, Notre Dame put up a 58-39 advantage in the second half during a 102-70 win. This time Braeden Shrewsberry led the team on 19 points with three rebounds and three assists. Markus Burton had 13 points with three boards, and Carson Towt doubled up on 11 points with 10 rebounds and five assists.

In their most recent outing versus Eastern Illinois on Tuesday, Notre Dame was up by a modest three points at the break. The Irish closed on a 47-30 run though, and ended up winning 78-58. Markus Burton topped the team on 21 points with three assists, and Braeden Shrewsberry had 18 points with two boards and two assists. Jalen Haralson chipped in during the win with his 17 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Fighting Irish cause.

Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Preview

Over on the Buckeyes’ side, they played IUPUI in their opener and had to fight off a pesky squad for an eventual high-scoring win 118-102 thanks to 66 first-half points. The Buckeyes’ Christoph Tilly was tops on 28 points with nine rebounds and three assists, while Bruce Thornton provided 26 points with five rebounds and four assists. Devin Royal added 22 points and eight boards as well. In game two it was another win for the Buckeyes as they took it 94-68 over Fort Wayne. Ohio State’s Bruce Thornton had 38 points with five rebounds and five assists this time, and John Mobley added 19 points with four assists and three rebounds.

Game three was another victory for Ohio State, this time over Appalachian State on Tuesday. The Buckeyes scored 45 points in the second half on the way to a 75-53 outcome. Ohio State vs Notre Dame Prediction

I’ll lean toward Notre Dame. You could call this one either way, though; it should be a pretty good matchup overall. The Irish had a slow first half in their last outing versus Eastern Illinois but eventually powered through it for a 20-point win. Notre Dame shot 48.3 percent from the field in that one with 35 rebounds and 13 team assists while holding the Panthers to just 38.9 percent shooting on the other side. It was a pretty well-rounded win, and the type of effort Notre Dame will need on Sunday. That makes 78 or more points in all three games for the Irish so far.

As for Ohio State, they shot a tepid 40.7 percent from the field in their latest outing versus App State but owned the boards 36-30 and had just four turnovers in a 22-point victory. Ohio State has 75 or more points in all three games this year, and 94 or more in two of them. This one could very well be a high-scoring, competitive game. Should be fun to watch.
