Kansas has just one loss on their record this year, a one-point result versus Dayton. Otherwise it’s been wins over Michigan State, Tarleton State, Stony Brook, North Texas, Iona, St. John’s, UTEP, Missouri, Stephen F. Austin, Nevada and George Mason.
In the George Mason game on January 1, the Jayhawks secured a 48-37 lead at halftime and hung on for the 76-67 win. Top scorer Jalen Coleman-Lands put up 20 points, and Christian Braun added 14 points with six assists.
Over on the Oklahoma State side, they started out the year with a 6-1 run thanks to a November 12 loss to Oakland. Since then the Cowboys have gone just 1-3 with losses to Wichita State, Xavier and Houston.
In the Houston game, the Cowboys were outscored 35-30 in the first half and 37-31 from there in a 72-61 loss. The only double-digit scorer on the team was Bryce Williams with 17 points. Avery Anderson added nine points and three rebounds.
The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. OK State is 7-2 ATS in the last nine as an underdog.
Meanwhile, the Jayhawks are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six road games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Tuesday games. The over is 4-0 in Kansas’ last four road games.
PICK: I’m going to stay with Kansas. The Jayhawks are coming off a solid effort against George Mason with 44.4 percent shooting from the field, 32 rebounds and 18 team assists. Kansas really hasn’t had much trouble scoring this year; they’ve hit 71 or more points in every game so far.
As for OK State, they’ve been at 61 points or below in two of their last four games. The Cowboys have played some tough customers during that time, though. Still, considering the offensive onslaught Kansas is likely to put up here, I don’t see the Cowboys keeping up for too long.
