The Arkansas Razorbacks and Oklahoma Sooners face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the BOK Center. When these two teams last faced off in 2017 it was Arkansas that won 92-83.
The Arkansas Razorbacks come into this game with a 9-0 record and they have gone 5-4 against the spread. In the last game against Charlotte, it was again the offense that was the difference putting up 86 points. Arkansas hasn’t been too tested this season and their biggest wins were over Cincinnati and Kansas State. Arkansas is averaging 83.3 points while their defense is giving up 67.2 points per game. Guard JD Notae has been the top player for Arkansas averaging 18.7 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from deep. Look for Arkansas to push the pace again in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Oklahoma Sooners who sit with a 7-2 record and they have gone 4-5 against the spread. In the last game against Butler, the offense really struggled scoring only 62 points and that led to the four point defeat. Oklahoma is averaging 74.1 points while their defense is giving up 60.9 points per game. Two games ago, Oklahoma beat Florida, and their offense put up 74 points in that game. Forward Tanner Groves has been the best player for Oklahoma averaging 14.9 points while shooting 59.3 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from the field. In this game, if Oklahoma wants any chance to win this game the defense is going to need to be good.
Arkansas is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. Oklahoma is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games following a straight up loss. The under is 6-1 in the Razorbacks last 7 games following an against-the-spread win. The over is 4-1 in Oklahoma’s last five home games.
Oklahoma isn’t an elite offensive team and I don’t think they are going to run up the score in this game. Arkansas is going to score 75 or 80 points and that will be the difference in this game. This is going to be another disappointing loss for Oklahoma. Back Arkansas against the spread.
