The Auburn Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Here’s an Oklahoma vs Auburn prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Oklahoma vs Auburn pick.
Auburn Tigers Betting Preview
Auburn posted a rocky 10-7 record over their first 17 outings this year. A four-game win streak came after that, as the Tigers took out South Carolina, Ole Miss, Florida and Texas. Following that run came a string of consecutive losses versus Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Over the first 26 games of the year that would make for a 14-12 overall record.
In the Kentucky game on Saturday the Tigers were trailing 39-35 in the locker room. Auburn finished up on a 40-35 run in the second half however, eventually powering out the comeback victory 75-74 in dramatic fashion on their home court. KeShawn Murphy topped the scorers with 25 points and 10 rebounds with two blocks. Elyjah Freeman added 11 points with three boards.
Oklahoma Sooners Betting Preview
Over on the Oklahoma side, they kicked off the year fairly well. Oklahoma was sitting at 11-3 across their first 14 games. Defeats came versus Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Kentucky in the next nine games. Following victories versus Vanderbilt and Georgia in the next pair came a loss to Tennessee for a 13-13 record over the first 26 games.
Matched up against Texas A&M over the weekend, the Sooners were within two points 43-41 going into the second half. Oklahoma was outscored 32-30 the rest of the way however, so they didn’t get any closer in an eventual loss 75-71. Tops in scoring was Dayton Forsythe with 14 points and six assists in the losing effort while Mohamed Wague put up 12 points with 13 rebounds for a double-double.

Oklahoma vs Auburn Prediction
I’ll lean toward Auburn. The Tigers had some troubles in their win over Kentucky this past weekend though, shooting just 40.3 percent from the field with a 37-30 rebounding deficit and 11 turnovers. Still, Auburn gets credit for powering out the home victory in the end. The Tigers really needed a W, as they’d lost five straight (three on the road) coming into that matchup with the Wildcats.
As for Oklahoma, they couldn’t catch Texas A&M in a home loss on Saturday, thanks mostly to a rough 32.8 percent shooting and an ugly 32-12 deficit on points in the paint. The Sooners did well from the line (83.3 percent on 20-of-24) however, and had a 42-33 edge on the boards. Oklahoma has won just two games since January 3, a span of 13 outings. It’s good that this one is at home, but I like Auburn to eke it out in the end.
