Old Dominion vs Duquesne Prediction 11-26-24 College Basketball Picks

The Duquesne Dukes and the Old Dominion Monarchs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from John Gray Gymnasium. Here’s an Old Dominion vs Duquesne prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Old Dominion vs Duquesne pick.

Duquesne Dukes Betting Preview

The Dukes’ 2024-25 campaign has gotten off to quite a rough winless start. Duquesne opened up with losses to Lipscomb, Princeton, and DePaul in their first three games, then fell to Milwaukee, South Dakota State, and Hampton over the next trio.

The Dukes were up 32-28 by the break in their latest matchup with Hampton on Monday. Duquesne was outscored 36-27 the rest of the way, however, resulting in a 64-59 defeat. The only double-digit scorer was Jake DiMichele with 13 points and three assists.

Old Dominion Monarchs Betting Preview

Over on the Old Dominion side, they struggled across their first three outings this year. The Monarchs lost that trio versus Buffalo, Arizona and Radford. Following wins over MD Eastern Shore and Randolph-Macon, Old Dominion fell to Boston College on Sunday.

In their Monday matchup with High Point, the Monarchs had things all tied up 34-34 by the break. Old Dominion was outscored 39-33 from there in a 73-67 loss, though. Sean Durugordon was the team’s leading scorer with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Old Dominion vs Duquesne Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with Old Dominion. Also probably not touching this one. On Monday they had a respectable first half against a good High Point team but gave up 53.2 percent shooting overall and missed five of their 11 free throws (54.5 percent). ODU has been spinning their wheels on offense lately with a combined 119 points over their last pair. That said, the Monarchs had three straight with 71 or more points prior to that.

As for Duquesne, they’re winless so far but the good news is that they’ve lost by seven points or fewer in four of those matchups. The Dukes also had a pretty good first half versus Hampton on Monday, shooting 42.2 percent from the floor with 34 rebounds. That said, Duquesne also shot an ugly 15-of-29 (51.7 percent) from the line with 18 turnovers. Duquesne has been at 60 points or below in three of the last four games, so I can’t trust them on a cover here.
