LSU Tigers

LSU managed a reasonable 12-8 record over their first 20 games this season. The Tigers would lose the next seven to Texas Tech, Missouri, Alabama, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Georgia and South Carolina before another win over Vanderbilt.

On Wednesday versus Vanderbilt, the Tigers went into the break with a 39-32 edge. LSU kept the pace on another 45 points from there and won 84-77. KJ Williams posted 35 points with 10 rebounds and Adam Miller added 18 points of his own.

Ole Miss Rebels

Over on the Ole Miss side, they stood at a sketchy 9-11 at the 20-game mark this year. The Rebels are 1-7 in the last eight featuring losses to Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State and Auburn with a win over Georgia otherwise.

Matched up against Auburn on Wednesday, the Rebels trailed 40-33 by the break. Ole Miss made a run at it in the second half but ended up losing 78-74. Leading scorer Matthew Murrell posted 23 points and Myles Burnes added 14 points with six rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably stick with Ole Miss. Granted, there’s not a whole lot to get excited about here; both teams are struggling mightily these days. That said, we should have a pretty competitive game on our hands. The Rebels haven’t quite been blowing teams away on the scoreboard lately; they’ve hit 64 or fewer points in three of their last four outings. LSU had a run of four straight sub-70 outings going earlier this month, but they’ve posted a combined 157 in their last pair. Ole Miss is going to have to get the offense going early here, and if they can ride the home momentum I think the Rebels have a solid cover chance.
