Pacific vs San Francisco Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/16/23

The San Francisco Dons and the Pacific Tigers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Alex G. Spanos Sports Center. San Francisco is 16-12 so far this year. The Dons took out Pepperdine in their last game. As for Pacific, they’re currently 13-14 after a win over San Diego this past weekend. San Francisco Dons

San Francisco began their year on a 12-8 run across their first 20 games. The Dons are 4-4 since then. The wins in that time were over Pacific, BYU, San Diego and Pepperdine. The losses came to Saint Mary’s (twice), Santa Clara and Gonzaga.

On Saturday versus Pepperdine, the Dons were down 46-39 going into the second half. San Francisco powered out a 49-34 run from there and won it 88-80. Tyrell Roberts was the top team scorer with 32 points.

Pacific Tigers

Over on the Pacific side, they opened the year on a .500 run at 10-10 through 20 games. The Tigers have since gone 3-4 with losses to San Francisco, Gonzaga, BYU and Portland alongside wins over Santa Clara, Pepperdine and San Diego.

In the Saturday matchup versus San Diego, Pacific jumped out to a 52-42 edge by halftime. The Tigers had to scramble on a five-point second-half deficit but still won 99-94. Keylan Boone scored 30 points and Jordan Ivy Curry added 25 in the victory.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll take a stab on Pacific here. The Tigers haven’t been the most reliable team in the world lately, but they’re still scoring pretty well and staying competitive. Pacific has hit 73 or more points in five of their last six games and they’ve won consecutive home matchups. The last time these teams saw each other was back on January 19 at War Memorial Gym. The Tigers were drilled 78-57 in that one thanks to a 41-22 first half. I like Pacific to play better at home this time and power out the cover (and maybe the win) with a much-improved offensive performance.
