The Indiana Hoosiers and the Penn State Nittany Lions meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Bryce Jordan Center. Indiana is 10-5 overall this year. The Hoosiers lost to Northwestern in their last game. As for Penn State, they’re 11-5 on the season following a loss to Purdue on Sunday. Indiana stood at 8-2 after 10 games this year, losing to only Rutgers and Arizona along the way. The Hoosiers are 2-3 since then with losses to Kansas, Iowa and Northwestern alongside wins versus Elon and Kennesaw State.

On Sunday versus Northwestern, the Hoosiers were down 41-34 going into the second half. Indiana made a game of it after the break but still lost 84-83. Jalen Hood-Schifino posted 33 points and Trayce Jackson-Davis had 18 points and 24 rebounds.

Over on the Penn State side, they were 7-3 at the 10-game mark, losing to Virginia Tech, Clemson and Michigan State. The Nittany Lions are 4-2 in their last six games, losing to Michigan and Purdue in their most recent pair.

In the Sunday matchup versus Purdue, Penn State was up 37-31 by the break. The Lions were drilled 45-26 in the second half however and lost 76-63. Jalen Pickett was the leading team scorer on 26 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

PICK: I’ll probably take a stab on Penn State here. You could make a good case either way in this game, though; it should be a great matchup. In any case, the Lions had a bad second half against a great Purdue team in their last outing and couldn’t handle Michigan last Wednesday but otherwise they’ve been playing great during this 5-2 stretch. Penn State has hit 69 or more points in five of the seven games as well. As for Indiana, they’ve fallen to a tough Northwestern team and a pretty good Iowa team in their last two outings. The Hoosiers should be right in this one, though. I expect this matchup to be pretty close the whole way and a fun game to watch.
