As for the Quakers, they played Yale in their Friday game. Penn would go on to power out a two-point victory. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Brown Bears
Brown managed to go on a .500 clip to start out the year, hitting an 8-8 run in their first 16 outings. The Bears went a solid 5-2 over the next seven games, beating Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard and Cornell along the way.
In the Friday game versus Princeton, Brown fell behind 39-29 by halftime. The Bears didn’t end up getting any closer in a 78-67 loss. Leading scorer Nana Owusu-Anane posted 16 points with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Pennsylvania Quakers
Over on the Penn side, they were also .500 to start out the year with a 9-9 run over their first 18 games. The Quakers also hit a 5-2 run in the next seven with wins over Hartford, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell and Harvard again after losses to Princeton and Yale.
Matched up against Yale on Friday, the Quakers took a 31-29 edge into the second half. Pennsylvania kept the pace from there and posted a 66-64 win. Jordan Dingle led the team with 18 points and three boards.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably stick with Penn. Should be a pretty good matchup regardless, though. The Quakers are now sitting on a six-game win streak. they’ve hit 74 or more points in five of those matchups and have been playing solid defense on the other side. The last time these teams met up back on January 2 at Pizzitola Sports Center, Pennsylvania bagged a 76-68 win thanks to 51 points in the second half. This one will likely be quite competitive as well, and I like Penn to power out another win/cover with a late surge.
