Radford vs George Washington 12/4/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The George Washington Colonials and the Radford Highlanders meet Sunday in college basketball action from Dedmon Center. George Washington is 5-2 on the year. The Colonials beat South Carolina in their last game. As for Radford, they’re 5-3 overall and coming off a win versus NC Central. George Washington went 3-1 over their first four games this year, taking out VA State, Howard and MD Eastern Shore. The Colonials would then lose to UC San Diego and beat New Hampshire over the next two outings. 

On Wednesday versus South Carolina, the Colonials jumped out to a 40-20 edge by the break. George Washington scored 39 more points in the second half for a 79-55 win. James Bishop led the scoring with 24 points and eight assists. 

Over on the Radford side, they went 3-3 over their first half-dozen games. The wins were over Bridgewater, Averett and Army; the losses came to Marquette, Notre Dame and William & Mary. The Highlanders beat Elon in game seven. 

On Thursday versus NC Central, Radford posted a 45-32 halftime edge. The Highlanders weren’t as good in the second half but still won 80-78. Josiah Jeffers topped the team on 18 points, while Shaquan Jules added 14 points.

PICK: I might take a stab on George Washington. You could probably make a good case either way here, though. It should be an interesting matchup. That said, the Colonials posted a nice all-around game versus SC State in their last outing. GW put up 50.8 percent shooting from the floor, 44.4 percent from 3-point range, 40 rebounds and 21 team assists. 

As for Radford, they’ve notched 69 or more points in seven of their eight games so this one could turn into a compelling shootout if both teams are on. It’ll be a fun one.
