Robert Morris vs Northern Kentucky College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 1/22/21

The Northern Kentucky Norse and the Robert Morris Colonials meet in college basketball action from the UPMC Events Center on Friday night.

The Northern Kentucky Norse will look to bounce back from a 65-63 loss to IUPUI last time out. Trevon Faulkner leads the Norse in scoring with 16.8 PPG to go along with 5.7 RPG while Marques Warrick has 14 PPG to make up the duo for the Norse coming into Friday’s matchup. Bryson Langdon has 8.2 PPG with a team-high 3.5 APG while Adrian Nelson has 7.4 PPG with a team-high 10.2 RPG as well this season. As a team, Northern Kentucky is averaging 68 PPG on 43% shooting from the field, 27.5% from 3-point range and 67.7% from the foul line while giving up 70.5 PPG on 45.4% shooting from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range this season.

The Robert Morris Colonials will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses to UIC including a 66-62 loss to the Flames in OT last time out. AJ Bramah leads the Colonials in scoring and rebounding averaging a double-double per game with 21.1 PPG and 10.1 RPG as the lone double-digit scorer for RMU coming into this game. Jon Williams has 8.6 PPG with 5.1 APG while Kahliel Spear has 8.6 PPG and Dante Treacy has 7.4 PPG with 4.7 APG as well this season. As a team, Robert Morris is averaging 72.1 PPG on 43.4% shooting from the field, 32.9% from 3-point range and 66.7% from the foul line while giving up 74.9 PPG on 45.6% shooting from the field and 37.4% from 3-point range this season.

Northern Kentucky is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 11-5 in their last 16 road games against a team with a winning home record. Robert Morris is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 15-3 ATS in their last 18 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 11-4 in their last 15 games overall.

I get that the Colonials have been a mainstay in the Horizon for some time now and Robert Morris is the new kid on the block, but this isn’t the same Norse team from past seasons. The Norse have had scoring issues and issues covering the number and are also horrendous on the road, going 0-5 away from home this season. Robert Morris has been decent in their maiden season in the Horizon League and I think if you take the dog here, you’re basically saying that Northern Kentucky wins this outright and I just don’t see it. I’ll lay the points with Robert Morris at home here.
