San Diego State vs Nevada 1/10/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Nevada Wolf Pack and the San Diego State Aztecs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Viejas Arena. Nevada is 14-3 on the year. The Wolf Pack beat San Jose State in their last matchup. As for San Diego State, they’re 12-3 overall after a win over Wyoming. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Nevada kicked off the season on a solid 8-2 run with losses to only Kansas State and LMU. After a loss to Oregon, the Wolf Pack beat UC San Diego, Norfolk State, Boise State, Air Force, Colorado State and San Jose State.

In the San Jose State game, the Wolf Pack took a 32-15 lead into the break. Nevada cruised on a 35-25 run in the second half and won it 67-40. Nick Davidson was tops on 15 points, and Darrion Williams had 10 rebounds with nine points.

Over on the San Diego State side, they hit a 7-3 run through their first 10 games with losses to Arizona, Arkansas and Saint Mary’s. The Aztecs are 5-0 since then, beating Kennesaw State, UC San Diego, Air Force, UNLV and Wyoming.

Matched up against Wyoming on Saturday, the Aztecs were ahead by a slim 43-42 margin at halftime. San Diego State outscored the Cowboys 37-33 from there and won 80-75. Lamont Butler led the team with his 23 points and two assists.

PICK: I’ll probably try Nevada here. This should be a pretty solid game regardless, though; both teams are doing well lately. The Wolf Pack have been great on defense through this six-game win streak; they’ve allowed 70 or more points in just one of those outings. As for San Diego State, they had a little trouble with a struggling Wyoming team in their last matchup but they got the job done. The Aztecs have hit 71 or more points in four of their last five games. I like this one to be reasonably close most of the way, with Nevada eking out a cover. It’ll be a fun one to watch.
