Nevada is coming off a loss to Boise State back on Friday which dropped the Wolf Pack to 15-2 overall in the Mountain West standings. Nevada Wolf Pack

The Wolf Pack got off to a 7-0 run this year before taking a loss to Drake. Nevada would then beat Weber State, Hawaii, Temple, TCU, Georgia Tech, Fresno Pacific, Fresno State and Air Force in succession over the next eight games before another loss to Boise State.

Back on Friday versus Boise State, the Wolf Pack were within three points in the locker room. Nevada didn’t end up getting closer on a 34-29 second-half deficit and lost the game 64-56. Leading the way in the losing effort was Kenan Blackshear with his 15 points, three assists and three rebounds.

San Diego State Aztecs

Over on the Aztecs’ side, they managed a 7-2 start over their first nine outings. San Diego State lost to BYU and Grand Canyon in that time. After wins over UC Irvine, Saint Katherine, Stanford, Gonzaga, Fresno State, UNLV and San Jose State, San Diego State lost another one to New Mexico.

In the New Mexico matchup on Saturday, the Aztecs posted a 40-37 deficit in the first half. San Diego State was outscored 48-33 from there and ended up losing 88-70. Leading the team in scoring was Jaedon LeDee with his 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

ANDREW’S FREE NEVADA VS SAN DIEGO STATE PREDICTION

I’ll stick with Nevada. You could argue this one either way though, as both teams have followed similar trajectories this year and both are coming off losses. The Wolf Pack posted a dud against Boise State in their last game with 36 percent from the field and a 43-24 rebidding deficit (11-2 offensive). The good news is that Nevada has held opponents below 65 points in five straight games; the bad news is that they’ve been at 67 or below themselves in consecutive outings. The offense is really going to have to come around here.

You could easily make a case for San Diego State here, even with the tepid road loss to New Mexico. The Aztecs have scored 70 points or more in seven straight, so Nevada is going to have to work to keep them in check offensively.
