Creighton hit a 12-5 run to begin the year. The Bluejays lost to Colorado State, Iowa State, Arizona State, Villanova and Xavier in that time. After two more losses to Butler and Xavier, the Bluejays managed a win over UConn on Tuesday.
In their last matchup versus UConn, Creighton managed a 32-22 run in the first half. The Bluejays were able to hang on for the eventual 59-55 victory. Tops in scoring was Ryan Hawkins with 23 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes.
Over on the Pirates’ side, they hit a 12-5 stretch to start as well; the losses were to Ohio State, Providence, Villanova, DePaul and Marquette. The Pirates then lost to St. John’s and Marquette again before beating Georgetown in their last outing.
Matched up against the Hoyas on Tuesday, the Pirates scored 35 points in the first half and another 35 in the second on the way to a 70-63 victory. Tray Jackson was the team’s high scorer on 21 points with seven rebounds and two steals.
The Pirates are 0-4 ATS in their last four at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Seton Hall is 7-2 ATS in the last nine Friday games.
Meanwhile, the Bluejays are 4-0 ATS in their last four Friday games and the under is 18-7-1 in their last 26 overall. The under is 26-9-2 in Creighton’s last 37 road games.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Creighton, but this one looks like a coin flip to me. It should be a great matchup. In any case, The Bluejays have faced some tough teams over their last trio and they’re coming off a nice road win over UConn. Seton Hall is in something of the same boat; they lost to St. John’s and Marquette before their road win versus Georgetown.
I like this one to be tight the whole way, and a lot of different things could happen on the scoreboard. You could make a good case either way; best to just sit back and enjoy the game.
