The St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits meet in college basketball action from the Sanford Pentagon on Tuesday night.
The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will try to bounce back from an 84-80 loss to Canisius last time out. Daryl Banks III led the Bonnies with 22 points on 5 of 13 shooting with 3 threes while Kyrell Luc and Anouar Mellouk each had 13 points with Luc logging a team-high 9 assists and 6 rebounds while Mellouk shot 6 of 9 from the floor. Chad Venning added 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting off of the bench.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits will be out to build on their 68-66 win over Boise State from their last game. Matt Dentlinger led the Jackrabbits with 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting with 4 steals while Zeke Mayo added 13 points with 3 threes. Alex Arians and William Kyle Jr. each had 11 points to cap off the scoring in double figures for South Dakota State in the win with Kyle III shooting 5 of 6 from the floor while Arians added team-highs of 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the victory.
St. Bonaventure is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games while the over is 13-6-1 in their last 20 games following a loss. South Dakota State is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 Tuesday games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.
I’ll give the Bonnies credit for battling hard despite losing in OT last time out and maybe the Bonnies will be alright. However, St. Bonaventure still lost a heap of talent from last year’s roster, and it’s still going to take time for all of the new pieces to adjust on the fly. South Dakota State on the other hand, did lose some pieces as well, but this team was loaded to begin with and took a next man up mentality. I like what I’ve seen from the Jackrabbits so far, so give me South Dakota State in this one.
