The Dartmouth Big Green and the South Florida Bulls meet Friday in college basketball action from the USF Sun Dome. Dartmouth is 4-8 overall this year. The Big Green lost to Boston U in their last game. As for South Florida, they’re 4-6 on the season and coming off a win over Northern Iowa. Dartmouth went just 1-4 to start the year, falling to Fordham, Bryant, Quinnipiac and Incarnate Word. The Green have gone 3-4 since then with losses to Grambling State, Vermont, Central CT State and Boston U.

In the Boston U matchup on Tuesday, the Big Green trailed 33-25 going into the second half. Dartmouth kept the pace from there but still lost 67-59. Leading scorer Demi Adelekun put up 11 points with eight rebounds.

Over on the South Florida side, they hit a five-game losing streak to start the season then got a win over Saint Joseph’s on November 22. The Bulls are 3-1 since then with wins over St. Francis BK. Charleston Southern and Northern Iowa.

In the Northern Iowa matchup, the Bulls posted a 42-41 advantage in the first half. South Florida had a 30-28 run in the second and powered out a 72-69 win. Tyler Harris led the team with his 18 points and three rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on South Florida. The Bulls started out the year on a rough run. They’ve gotten much better over the last five games however. South Florida has hit 72 or more points in four of their last five games (all wins) after scoring 67 or fewer in the five straight losses to start the year. As for Dartmouth, they haven’t seen 60 points in any of their last three games. If South Florida can keep their scoring run going, I don’t see the Big Green keeping a cover pace here.
