Western Michigan posted a win over Hope 76-58 in their opener this year, but then hit a losing streak. Over the next four games, the Broncos lost to Michigan State 90-46, Saginaw Valley 80-63, Iowa 109-61 and Florida Gulf Coast 77-67.

In Saturday’s game versus Fort Wayne, Western Michigan had an early lead but were outscored 41-37 in the second half to tie it up. The Broncos put up a 16-8 overtime advantage to take a 93-85 win. Adrian Martin led the team in scoring on 20 points and three assists.

Over on the Southeastern Louisiana side, posted a 3-3 run over their first six games. The Lions’ wins came versus SE Baptist, Paul Quinn and Ecclesia. As for the losses, those were courtesy of Tulane, SMU and Fort Wayne.

In the Saturday matchup against Florida Gulf Coast, Southeastern Louisiana was outscored 59-41 in a wild first half. The Lions couldn’t crawl back from there in an eventual 90-71 defeat. Gus Okafor led the team on 23 points, five rebounds and two assists.

The under is 5-1 in Southeastern Louisiana’s last six Sunday games and 8-2 in their last 10 as an underdog of 7.0-12.5. The under is 5-2 in the Lions’ last seven neutral-site games as an underdog.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 neutral-site games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. The over is 6-1 in the Broncos’ last seven Sunday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Western Michigan. The Broncos put up a strong effort against a decent Fort Wayne squad on Saturday, shooting 59.6 percent with a 34-20 rebounding edge. The 17 turnovers didn’t help, though.

As for Southeastern Louisiana, they had a decent second half against FGCU on Saturday but couldn’t keep up outside of the 40 percent from 3-point range. If this one turns into a shootout the Lions probably won’t be able to keep up.
