Southern Mississippi vs UC San Diego 11/25/2021 College Basketball Picks, Best Bets and Odds

The UC-San Diego Tritons and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles meet in college basketball action from Dahlberg Arena on Thursday night.

The UC-San Diego Tritons will be looking to bounce back from a 71-61 loss to Montana last time out. Heading into Wednesday’s game with Montana, T oni Rocak leads the Tritons in scoring with 18 PPG as well as in rebounding with 7.8 RPG while Francis Nwaokorie has 12.8 PPG with 4.5 RPG and Bryce Pope has 10 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for UC-San Deigo this season. Jace Roquemore has 9.3 PPG as well this season. As a team, UC-San Diego is averaging 80.8 PPG on 49.3% shooting from the field, 44.8% from three and 76% from the foul line while allowing 59.5 PPG on 37.7% shooting from the field and 22.9% from three this season.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles will try to add to their 80-66 win over UNC-Wilmington last time out. Heading into Wednesday’s matchup with UNCW, Tae Hardy leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 21.3 PPG along with 2.3 APG while Isaih Moore has 14.8 PPG with 7 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Southern Miss so far this season. Tyler Stevenson has a team-high 8.3 RPG and Walyn Happer has a team-high 3.2 APG as well this season. As a team, Southern Miss is averaging 64.8 PPG on 40.3% shooting from the field, 27.4% from three and 68.6% from the foul line while allowing 72.8 PPG on 41.2% shooting from the field and 38% from three this season.

I get that Southern Miss has hung around with some tough customers but realistically this Golden Eagles team isn’t that good and San Diego is a team that’s fairly high on coming into this season, even after the loss to Montana.
