Stanford vs Cal Poly Prediction 11-30-24 College Basketball Picks

In this article, we will formulate a Stanford vs Cal Poly Prediction for this college basketball game on Saturday, November 30th, at the Maples Pavilion.

Cal Poly Looks to Build on Last Game

Cal Poly in the last game faced off against Grambling State and they were able to secure the 82-79 victory. At halftime they were up 44-33 and even though they weren’t as good in the second half they still held on for the win. There were five different players that put up at least 10 points. Owen Koonce had a strong game putting up 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Isaac Jessup also put up 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Cal Poly on the season is averaging 80.5 points per game while their defense is giving up 80.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 100th, but the defense is ranked 338th and they are going to need the defense to be better here. Cal Poly will take on UC Davis after this one.

Why Cal Poly Will Cover Against Stanford

Cal Poly has won three of its last four night games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Stanford Fell Short

Stanford has been fine to start the season but they are coming off a disappointing loss. On Tuesday, Stanford faced off against Grand Canyon and they scored 71 points, but the defense gave up 78 points and that led to the defeat. Maxime Raynaurd had a strong game putting up 29 points, 11 rebounds, and one assist. There were three different players that put up at least 12 points. Two games ago against Santa Clara, they were able to secure a 71-69 victory. A win is a win, but that wasn’t good. Stanford on the season is averaging 78 points while their defense is giving up 64.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 148th in the league while the defense is ranked 54th. Stanford will play against Utah Valley, California, Merrimack, and Oregon following this game.

Stanford vs Cal Poly Prediction

Cal Poly isn’t good, but I am not sold on this Stanford team, and they aren’t going to find success here. Stanford is averaging 78 points but the defense hasn’t been good the last couple of games and their defense is going to really struggle again here. Cal Poly’s offense has been good and they are going to have no issue running up the score here. Back Cal Poly against the spread here.
