Army lost five of their first seven games this year to Stonehill, William & Mary, Radford, Princeton and Manhattan. The Knights hit a win streak over Merchant Marine, Wagner and NJIT in their next three games.

Last weekend versus Rhode Island, the Black Knights were outpaced 41-27 in the first half on the way to a 77-67 loss. Leading team scorer Chris Mann posted 16 points, and Jalen Rucker added 11 points with five rebounds.

Over on the Stony Brook side, they hit a 1-5 stretch to start out the year with only a win over Miami-Hamilton to show for it. The Seawolves have gone 2-3 since then, falling to Yale, Bryant and Wagner.

Back on Thursday versus Wagner, the Seawolves were up 32-26 by the break. Stony Brook was outscored 32-23 from there in a 58-55 loss. Tyler Stephenson-Moore was the top team scorer on 17 points and seven rebounds.

PICK: I’m going with Army. Granted, there’s not a ton to like about this matchup. That said, Army has posted a handful of solid outings against comparable squads so far. Army has scored well here and there; they’ve hit 71 or more points in seven of their 11 games. As for Stony Brook, they’re coming off a tough game against Wagner that they probably should have won. The Seawolves have surpassed 60 points in just one of the last three games; they’ll need a big push to keep pace in this one.
