The Cincinnati Bearcats and the Temple Owls meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Liacouras Center. Cincinnati is currently 14-5 this year. The Bearcats beat Tulsa in their last game. Cincinnati hit a 10-3 run to start the year. The losses in that time were to Arkansas, Monmouth and Xavier. It’s been a 4-2 run since then for the Bearcats with losses to Tulane and Memphis among wins over SMU, East Carolina, Wichita State and Tulsa.

In the Tulsa game on Thursday, the Bearcats outscored the opposition 41-34 in the first half and 49-35 in the second for a 90-69 victory. Topping the team was Jeremiah Davenport with 24 points and four rebounds.

Over on the Owls’ side, their first 13 games were a 7-6 run. The Owls fell to USC, Clemson, Boise State, Saint Joseph’s, UCF and Houston in that stretch. Since then it’s been three wins over UCF, East Carolina and Tulsa.

Way back on January 12 versus Tulsa, Temple scored 31 first half points and finished with 38 more in a 69-64 victory. The Owls’ Nick Jourdain put up 23 points and five rebounds, while Jahlil White doubled on 11 points and 10 boards.

The Owls are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 5-1-1 in their last seven overall. The over is 4-1 in Temple’s last five Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Bearcats are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 Tuesday games. Cincinnati is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Cincinnati here. That’s mostly due to the fact that it’s been a while since we’ve seen Temple on the court (January 12) so it’s tough knowing what to expect from the Owls. That said, Temple has been competitive over their last three games and should be a solid opponent to test the Bearcats.

That said, Cincinnati has scored well lately (77 or more points in four of their last five) and shouldn’t have much trouble putting up points here. It’s an intriguing matchup but I think the Bearcats will be okay on a cover.
