Tennessee-Martin vs Chicago State 12/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Chicago State Cougars and the UT-Martin Skyhawks meet in college basketball action from the Elam Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Chicago State Cougars will look to build on a 78-61 win over Southern Indiana last time out. Wesley Cardet Jr. leads the Cougars in scoring and assists with 16.1 PPG and 2.8 APG while Jahsean Crockett has 12.5 PPG with a team-high 8.8 RPG to lead the Cougars on the glass and Elijah Weaver has 12.3 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Chicago State up to this point in the season. As a team, Chicago State is averaging 68.1 PPG on 42.1% shooting from the field, 33.3% from three and 77.7% from the foul line this season.

The UT-Martin Skyhawks will try to bounce back from a 90-83 loss to UNC-Asheville last time out. Parker Stewart leads the Skyhawks in scoring with 16.3 PPG along with 4.7 RPG while KJ Simon has 16 PPG with 4.6 RPG and a team-high 2.8 APG to lead the Skyhawks in assists as the only other double-digit scorer for UT-Martin up to this point in the season. Koby Jeffries also has 2.8 APG and Chris Nix has a team-high 5.7 RPG to lead the Skyhawks on the glass this season. As a team, UT-Martin is averaging 81.2 PPG on 46.9% shooting from the field, 34.6% from three and 68% from the foul line this season.

Chicago State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win while the over is 3-1-2 in their last 6 road games. UT-Martin is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss.

There are much better places to have your money on Sunday, but if forced to pick here, I’d side with UT-Martin. The Skyhawks are at home here and Chicago State has been miserable on the road for some time now and I don’t see that changing in this game, despite the issues the Skyhawks may have had over the course of the season. Give me UT-Martin here.
