Texas vs Ohio State Prediction 11-4-24 College Basketball Picks

In this article we will formulate an Texas vs Ohio State prediction for this College Basketball game on Monday, November 4th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Preview

The Ohio State Buckeyes were 22-14 last year and they went 9-11 in the Big Ten, which was 11th in the conference. Ohio State scored 75.5 points per game on the season, but they did allow 70.2 points against per game. The Buckeyes opened the season with a 79-73 win over Oakland last season, which was much closer than they wanted it to be. The Buckeyes finished the regular season playing very well, as they won six of their last eight games, including wins over Michigan State and Purdue. The Buckeyes defeated Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament, but lost to Illinois by three points in the next round. Ohio State did go to the NIT, where they defeated Cornell and Virginia Tech, before losing to Georgia.

Ohio State lost quite a bit of production from last season, but they do return Bruce Thornton, who averaged 15.7 points and 4.8 assists per game. The Buckeyes brought in a few key transfers, but Meechie Johnson Jr. is probably the most important. Johnson was very solid for South Carolina last season and will be a big part of this Ohio State team.

Texas Longhorns Betting Preview

The Texas Longhorns went 21-13 last season and they finished 9-9 in the Big 12, which was seventh in the league. Texas scored 75.4 points per game and they allowed 68.9 points against per game last year. The Longhorns opened last season with an 88-56 win over Incarnate Word and only lost twice before January, with the losses coming against UConn and Marquette. Texas won six of their last ten regular season games, which did include a win over a ranked TCU team. The Longhorns lost to Kansas State by four points in their first game of the Big 12 Tournament, before beating Colorado State and losing to Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament.

Texas has a lot of turnover from their team last season, so they are going to rely on transfers and incoming freshmen to build upon last year’s results. The Longhorns are bringing in five transfers that averaged double-digit scoring last year, so this will be a completely different team than we saw last year.

Texas vs Ohio State Prediction

This should be a very entertaining game between two teams that have a lot of changes from last season. Texas is ranked in the preseason poll, but that doesn’t mean much to me. The Longhorns are bringing in a lot of scoring ability, but I am guessing that is going to take some time to gel. Ohio State also brought in a few new players, but they also return Thornton, who was great for them last year. I think this game could go either way, so give me the points with the Buckeyes.
