McNeese State was able to beat Champion Christian in their opener, but then lost the next three to Tulane, Western Carolina and Lindenwood. The Cowboys were able to bounce back with a win over Lamar in game five.

On Wednesday versus Baylor, the Cowboys were down 39-30 by halftime. McNeese State was outscored 50-30 from there in an 89-60 defeat. Both Johnathan Massie and Zach Scott scored 12 points apiece to lead the team.

Over on the TN-Martin side, they went 2-2 over their first four with losses to Pittsburgh and Youngstown State before wins over Champion Christian and Harris-Stowe. The Skyhawks then lost to Ole Miss and beat Prairie View A&M.

On Tuesday versus Arkansas State, the Skyhawks recorded another loss. TN-Martin kept the pace in the first half but fell behind later in an eventual 70-64 defeat. Parker Stewart led the team on 15 points with three boards.

PICK: I might try McNeese State here, but I’m probably not touching it. The Cowboys were blown out by Baylor in the second half of their last game, eventually shooting 38.5 percent from the floor overall. The good news is that the Cowboys had relatively good totals in rebounds (32) and assists (13) during the loss. McNeese hasn’t hit 70 points in any of their last five games however, so they’re either going to have to get the offense going or keep this one low-scoring.
