The Miami-OH Redhawks and the Toledo Rockets meet Saturday in college basketball action from Savage Arena. Miami OH is coming off a Thursday matchup versus Central Michigan. Miami OH won their first five games this season but they haven’t been able to get more than two consecutive wins since then. The Redhawks hit a 3-2 run from there with wins over Western Michigan, Bowling Green and NIU alongside losses to Ohio and Buffalo.

Matched up against the Central Michigan on Thursday, the Redhawks had a 37-33 lead by halftime. Miami OH was outscored 32-50 from there in an 83-69 defeat. Mekhi Lairy led the team on 18 points with three assists.

Over on the Toledo side, it’s been a good run so far; they’re yet to lose two games in a row this year. The Rockets went 18-4 to start the year, then hit a 2-2 run early this month. Since then it’s been wins over Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

In the Western Michigan game on Tuesday, the Rockets posted 41 points in the first half and 51 more after the break in a nice 92-50 blowout win. Tops in scoring was Setric Millner with 28 points, eight boards and three assists.

Toledo is 7-2 ATS in their last nine at home and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win. The Rockets are 39-17-1 ATS in their last 57 overall.
Meanwhile, the Redhawks are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 overall and 1-8 ATS in the last nine Saturday games. The over is 5-0 in Miami OH’s last five overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Miami OH. The Redhawks haven’t exactly been the most consistent team lately, but for the most part they’ve been completive against some tough squads. The last time these teams met up, Miami OH lost a tough one 75-72 back on January 11. If the Redhawks can keep up the scoring, I can see them staying in range well enough to cover. Toledo has had a couple of sketchy games lately so it’s a distinct possibility.
