Towson vs Navy 12/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Navy Midshipmen and the Towson Tigers meet Sunday in college basketball action from SECU Arena. Navy is currently 5-4 overall. The Midshipmen lost to West Virginia in their last game. As for Towson, they’re sitting at 8-2 and coming off a loss to Clemson. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Navy went 5-1 over their first six games this year, losing to Coppin State with wins over William & Mary, Princeton, UC San Diego, Youngstown State and Mount St. Mary’s. Since then it’s been losses to Lipscomb, VMI and West Virginia.

Matched up against West Virginia, the Midshipmen trailed 48-38 at the break. Navy scored just 26 points from there and ended up losing 85-64. Austin Benigni led the team with 20 points, and Sean Yoder added 10 points.

Over on the Towson side, they’ve beaten Albany, UMass, Penn, UNC Greensboro, Coppin State, South Alabama, Mercer and LIU this year. The two losses have come courtesy of Fairfield and Clemson.

On Wednesday versus Clemson, Towson was down just two points by halftime. Towson posted a 43-40 deficit in the second half for an 80-75 loss. Leading scorer Nicolas Timberlake put up 21 points with eight rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Towson. The Tigers put up a valiant effort against a good Clemson team in their last outing. Towson shot 41.8 percent from the field in that one and ended up out-rebounding Clemson 36-33. This year Towson has been scoring pretty well, and they’ve hit 70 or more points in three straight. As for the Midshipmen, they’re still scoring well themselves despite sitting on three losses. Navy has hit 68 or more points in eight of their nine outings so far. I like this one to be a fairly high-scoring matchup with a Towson cover. Should be a fun one to watch.
