The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC Davis Aggies meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. Cal State Fullerton is 9-8 on the season and fresh off a loss to UC Irvine. As for UC Davis, they’re sitting at 9-7 this year. The Aggies beat CSU Northridge in their last outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

CSU Fullerton was 6-6 after 12 games this year, beating Pepperdine, Vermont, Pacific, Westcliff, SDCC and Sacramento State. The Titans are 3-2 since then with wins over CSU Northridge, UC Riverside and Hawaii.

On Wednesday versus UC Irvine, the Titans trailed 27-25 going into the second half. CSU Fullerton posted a 43-40 deficit from there and lost 70-65. Tory San Antonio was the top scorer on 17 points and six rebounds.

Over on the UC Davis side, they were 7-5 after 12 games with losses to LMU, Milwaukee, Pacific, Eastern WA and UCLA. The Aggies are 2-2 since then with losses to Hawaii and UC Irvine before wins over CSUB and CSUN.

Matched up against CSU Northridge on Wednesday, the Aggies were down 31-28 by halftime. UC Davis stormed back on a 34-23 run and took the victory 62-54. Robby Beasley posted 23 points, and Elijah Pepper added 20 points with nine rebounds.

PICK: I’ll probably stick with UC Davis here. We should have a decent matchup on our hands regardless, though. The Aggies started a little slow against a struggling CSUN team in their last outing, but to their credit UC Davis gathered themselves and got the win. The Aggies will want to keep the scoring low in this one; they’ve allowed just 102 combined points in their last pair, winning both. As for CSUF, they’ve been a mixed bag scoring-wise lately with 64 or fewer points in four of their last six games. If UC Davis can keep the defensive clamps on tight, I think they’ll be in line for a cover. Should be a good game, though.
