The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC Davis Aggies meet Thursday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. CSU Fullerton is 11-5 on the year so far and took out UC San Diego in their last game. As for UC Davis, they’re sitting at 8-5 this season. The Aggies beat CSU Northridge in their most recent appearance. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
CSU Fullerton got off to a sketchy 4-5 start this year with wins over George Washington, San Diego, Northern AZ and Pacific. Since then it’s been a win streak over Life Pacific, Redlands, CSU Bakersfield, CSU Northridge, UCSB, UC Irvine and UC San Diego.
In the UC San Diego game on Saturday, CSU Fullerton posted a 46-41 edge in the first half and hung on for the eventual 83-80 win. Leading the Titans in scoring was Damari Milstead with 20 points, a pair of steals and three assists.
Over on the UC Davis side, their year began at 6-4 with losses to Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Academy of Art University and Portland. It’s been a 2-1 stretch since then (among a handful of cancelations) with wins over UC San Diego and CSU Northridge.
In the CSU Northridge game back on January 20, the Aggies caught fire in the second half on a 35-18 run and secured a 64-47 victory. Christian Anigwe was the leading team scorer on 16 points with eight rebounds and one block.
The Aggies are 5-2 ATS in the last seven at home and 5-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games. UC Davis is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win. The over is 4-1 in CSUF’s last five overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with CSU Fullerton here. The Titans have looked pretty good over this seven-game win streak. They’ve hit 73 or more points in six of those games and they’re rolling right now. As for UC Davis, they’ve played just three games since December 22 so it’s tough to know what they’ll look like coming off yet another cancellation. That said, I like this one to be pretty competitive most of the way.
