UC Irvine vs Loyola Marymount 11/15/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Loyola Marymount Lions and the UC-Irvine Anteaters meet in college basketball action from the Bren Events Center on Tuesday night.

The Loyola Marymount Lions will be out to build on an 85-75 win over UC-Davis last time out. Cam Shelton led LMU with 24 points on 8 of 20 shooting with 3 threes, 6 rebounds, a team-high 6 assists and 3 steals while Keli Leaupepe added 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting with a pair of threes, 12 rebounds and a pair of steals for the double-double. Chance Stephens added 12 points coming on 4 threes and Jalin Anderson added 11 points with 5 assists to finish off the scoring in double figures for Loyola Marymount in the win.

The UC-Irvine Anteaters will hope to build on their 69-56 win over Oregon from their last game. DJ Davis led UC-Irvine with 24 points on 8 of 17 shooting with 6 threes while Dawson Baker added 11 points on 5 of 9 shooting as the only other double-digit scorer for UC-Irvine in the win. Pierre Crockrell II added a team-high 5 assists while Bent Leuchten added a team-high 6 rebounds as well in the victory for the Anteaters.

Loyola Marymount is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS win while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games following a SU win. UC-Irvine is 28-13-2 ATS in their last 43 home games and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS while the over is 12-5 in their last 17 Tuesday games.

I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m going to lean towards Loyola Marymount. The Anteaters got the massive win over Oregon, and while I’m not calling for a letdown, I think it’s just a case of giving up too many points to a decent Loyola Marymount team with such a quick turnaround for Irvine after that win. I think UC-Irvine wins, but I think LMU covers so give me the Lions and the points here.
