The Cal Poly Mustangs and the UC-Riverside Highlanders meet in college basketball action from the SRC Arena on Saturday night.

The Cal Poly Mustangs will try to snap a five-game losing skid after a 69-64 loss to UC-Santa Barbara last time out. Alimamy Koroma leads the Mustangs in scoring with 13.3 PPG along with 5.4 RPG while Jacob Davison has 11.9 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Cal Poly so far this season. Trevon Taylor has a team-high 5.7 RPG and Camren Pierce has 3.8 APG as well for the Mustangs so far this season. As a team, Cal Poly is averaging 61.4 PPG on 40.5% shooting from the field, 29% from three and 71.7% from the foul line while allowing 67.7 PPG on 40.6% shooting from the field and 35.5% from three this season.

The UC-Riverside Highlanders will look to build on their 79-69 win over CSU-Bakersfield last time out. Zyon Pullin leads the Highlanders in scoring and assists with 13.1 PPG and 3,9 APG along with 5.6 RPG while J.P. Moorman II has 11.1 PPG with 5.6 RPG and Flynn Cameron and Dominick Pickett each have 10+ PPG this season. Callum McRae also has 9.7 PPG with a team-high 7.5 RPG to lead the Highlanders on the glass up to this point in the season. As a team, UC-Riverside is averaging 63.8 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field, 29.9% from three and 71.3% from the foul line while allowing 61.8 PPG on 40.5% shooting from the field and 29.2% from three this season.

Cal Poly is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600 while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following an ATS win. UC-Riverside is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU win while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing road record.

I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m still leaning towards the under here. Cal Poly has been struggling to score, but UC-Riverside’s no offensive juggernaut either and it’s hard to lay this kind of number with the Highlanders given their issues but I can’t trust Cal Poly with any amount of points. In what could be a first to 60 wins kind of game, give me the under here.
