UC San Diego vs Seattle 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Seattle Redhawks and the UC-San Diego Tritons meet in college basketball action from LionTree Arena on Monday night.

The Seattle Redhawks will try to build on a solid 2021-22 season, finishing at 23-9 overall including a 14-4 mark in WAC conference play in Chris Victor’s first year as head coach. The Redhawks were eliminated in an upset by Abilene Christian in the WAC tournament semifinals, ending their season, which was a bit of a shock as a 23-win team. The Redhawks have to replace Darrion Trammell (17.3 PPG, 5 APG, 2.5 SPG) from last year’s team, but Cameron Tyson (14.7 PPG, 5.2 RPG) and Riley Grigsby (12.8 PPG, 3.6 RPG) come back to head Seattle’s starting lineup while Alex Schumacher transfers in from D-II after logging 14.6 PPG, 4.9 RPG and 4 APG last season. There are now expectations for Seattle after last season and now it’s time to see if the Redhawks can live up to them.

The UC-San Diego Tritons will be out to bounce back from an up and down 2021-22 season, finishing at 13-16 overall, but as part of their transition to D-I, the Tritons were ineligible for any postseason participation. The Tritons lose the services of Toni Rocak from last year’s squad after putting up 15.2 PPG and 6.5 RPG while Bryce Pope had 12.3 PPG and Francis Nwaokorie had 11.8 PPG and 5.8 RPG. Jace Roquemore had 6.3 PPG and 3.2 APG to lead the Tritons as well.

Seattle is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 Monday games. UC-San Diego is 10-3-2 ATS in their last 15 home games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m going towards Seattle here. The Redhawks really opened some eyes last year and the pieces are there to carry it forward this season, especially early on against a UC-San Diego team that lost a ton of their top talent and will be rebuilding on the fly here. Give me the Redhawks laying the bucket on the road here.
