UNLV vs Nebraska-Omaha 12/15/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Omaha Mavericks and the UNLV Rebels meet in college hoops action from the Thomas & Mack Center on Wednesday night.

The Omaha Mavericks will look to bounce back from a 9th straight loss after an 87-73 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi last time out. Nick Ferrarini has 9.9 PPG in 7 games for Omaha this season while Kyle Luedtke has 9.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG and Darrius Hughes has 9.1 PPG and 4 RPG. Marco Smith’s also chipped in a team-high 2.2 APG as has Felix Lemetti this season. As a team, Omaha is averaging 61.6 PPG on 38.6% shooting from the field, 33.2% from three and 71.2% from the foul line while allowing 60.2 PPG on 48.2% shooting from the field and 40.3% from three this season.

The UNLV Rebels will look to build on their 95-78 win over Hartford last time out. Bryce Hamilton leads the Rebels in scoring with 17.8 PPG while Donovan Williams has 11.9 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for UNLV so far this season. Royce HammJr. Has 8.3 PPG with a team-high 9.7 RPG to lead the Rebels on the glass and Jordan McCabe is dishing out a team-high 4.8 APG as well this season. As a team, UNLV is averaging 69.6 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field, 33.3% from downtown and 71% from the foul line while allowing 67.1 PPG on 41.2% shooting from the field and 33.2% from three this season.

Omaha is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. UNLV is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 20-6 in their last 26 Wednesday games.

I get the case to be made either way here, but rather than pick a side I’ll side with the over here. Omaha’s had no problem giving out points this season and UNLV, while solid defensively, has had moments where they ship out a few points as well. I think this is a game that gets closer to 150, so give me the over here.
