The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks and the Utah State Aggies meet Tuesday in college basketball action from John Gray Gymnasium. Stephen F. Austin is currently 4-1 on the year. The Lumberjacks took out Drake in their Monday matchup. As for Utah State, they’re 4-1 as well following a win over Akron. Have a look at our Utah State vs Stephen F. Austin Prediction.

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks

The Lumberjacks took a 67-62 overtime loss to Middle Tennessee in their second game of the year, but that’s been their only blemish so far. Stephen F. Austin took out North American, Northwestern State and Loyola Marymount in their first four games. In the win over the Lions, the Lumberjacks shot 47.5 percent from the floor and hauled in 31 rebounds.

In Monday’s matchup versus Drake, the Lumberjacks were up 38-32 in the first half, then caught fire with 54 more points in the second for a 92-68 win. Leading team scorer Jalil Beaubrun put up 14 points with six rebounds. Nana Antwi-Boasiako added 13 points and one rebound off the bench.

Utah State Aggies

Over on the Aggies’ side, they’ve got just one blemish on the schedule as well, a 72-66 loss to Bradley on November 11. Utah State scored very well in their first three wins, and took out Marshall 83-60 in the Sunday game. The Aggies shot a nice 54.5 percent from the field in that one, bagging 37 rebounds and 19 team assists.

On Monday versus Akron, Utah State took a 33-29 lead into the break. The Aggies were outscored 33-32 from there but still held on for a 65-62 win. Utah State’s Great Osobor was the only player in double-figures on 24 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

I’ll probably stay with Stephen F. Austin. The Lumberjacks looked pretty darn good in their Monday victory, shooting a blistering 63 percent from the floor with 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from outside. Stephen F. Austin owned the boards 33-26 as well, but also coughed up 17 turnovers. The Lumberjacks have scored 86 or more points in all four of their wins thus far, so if they can notch another good offensive effort Tuesday, SFA will be in great shape.

As for Utah State, they were able to power out a gritty win versus a resilient Akron team on Monday. The Aggies shot 45.6 percent from the field in that one, but hit a tepid 3-of-10 from 3-point range and 10-of-15 from the line. Utah State should match up well here, so we’ll have a great game on our hands.
